Hot and fresh out the kitchen...

New post, new Website!

I've transferred my blog over to here as its a bit slicker looking and hopefully will have less issues with blogging.

So again its been a long time since I posted properly but lots of things have happened, big and small, getting engaged being one of them ;) So you might see some interesting things poping up on my Pinterest etc.

So whats new with the house.... lets start in the kitchen, this was put in by the previous owners and is a very high spec kitchen despite it not being exactly to my taste. Our house is definitely a Mullethouse - formal in the front and party in the back! The kitchen felt like a big disconnect from the main house as it is very very modern - to link the spaces I have been looking for warmer pieces of furniture for this space that can sit comfortably in a modern room. Also key was introducing colour as the palate was very very very monochrome! So I bought this snazzy old school laboratory cabinet for the breakfast area to host our less frequently used items. It was super grubby and gross with years of greasy polish/muck on it which came off nicely with some soap and elbow grease. We also brought through our lovely yellow IKEA rug which really injects a nice pop of colour! (Although yellow shows up ALL the marks).

Another key to softening the space is greenery - I have a lot of plants in this space, and will also be creating a mini herb garden to satisfy my craving for fresh herbs in the cooking!
